There was a junction box and wiring at the top of the stairs, but the inspector told me that he didn&#8217;t detect any current in the wires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Armed with my new multi-meter, I took a second look at these wires and found that they were switched by the stairwell switches. Convenient!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Liz and I picked and installed a light fixture in this empty space.
