John Bryan Observatory
Astronomy has been a difficult hobby for me to share with people. I try to take pictures, and share at work, with friends, or even here. Most of the time, it doesn’t get the enthusiasm that I feel stargazing.
It is this desire to share, and see what more experienced astronomers are doing that has made me interested in joining the Miami Valley Astronomical Society. I finally took the time to join, and found a group of people that share my enthusiasm, and often even exceed it.
One of the benefits of being a member of MVAS is the use of the observatory at John Bryan State Park. Liz and I recently went to a star party here. We brought just the binoculars, as I am not quite ready for remote imaging, but there were many beautiful telescopes all around.
Needless to say, I had a lot of fun, and if not for the cold, Liz would have enjoyed it as well. I hope to enjoy many more evenings under the stars with the MVAS nerds.
